Hi guys!
Well the results appointment has been and gone at last!
Due to Christmas preparations I have not had enough time
to post again until now, so sorry if anyone looked to see what
my results were before now!
It was a long wait until my 6.40p.m appointment and in the end
Steve and I sat in the kitchen looking at each other and he said "you
could always not turn up!"
But turn up we did and sat in the waiting room holding hands!
When the Doctor opened her door we wanted to run out of the building, but in we went!
It turned out that the reason they did not tell me why they wanted blood tests
was because the Hospital had requested that they check for Cancer of the bones!
(This was because I am a bit on the young side to have Kyphosis with collapse of
two vertabral bodies.)
BUT THE BLOODS AND URINE SAMPLE RULED THIS OUT!
I have multiple collapses in the Thoracic spine and a disc bulge in the cervical spine.(Neck).
But it doesn't end there, it seems that I have a haemangioma (the same as a "strawberry mark
that babies can develop - I did have one on my left side for years - but in my Spine and large!)
I told my Mum and she was most surprized! (I have never suffered with upper back pain before all
this happened!
But the scan showed that it is benign!
The Hospital has recommended that if I am still symptomatic after 6 to 8 weeks of conservative
treatment then I can be considered for a vertobroplasty. (Patched up with some cement?)
Steve and I went home on such a high of relief, but the 'phone went at 2.30a.m, (luckily we were
still drinking red wine at that time to celebrate), and it was my youngest son (remember they usually
freak out in turns the three of them), sounding quite desperate!
He is 29 now, but had his drink spiked in a bar!
Three other people were also spiked and taken to Hospital, but my son lives very near the pub so went
home and 'phoned us after passing out for 6 hours!
Naturally I called a Taxi to bring him to our house so that we could assess the state of him!
We finally got to bed at about 5.00a.m and my son was still not feeling right 12 hours later, but
much improved from the way he had been feeling!
He is fine again today and having Christmas at his brother and sister's house.
We still have some wine left and intend to enjoy some more of it tonight after what ultimately
was a good outcome for me at the Doctors!
Much love to you all,
and thank you for being there for me.
Merry Christmas,
Fiona
